Gadino Cellars
We look forward to getting to know you. Aleta Saccuta Gadino and her husband, Bill Gadino, are the two founders of Gadino Cellars and have a common Italian family tradition of home winemaking. It is a family tradition that dates back to our great-grandfathers’ arrival in the United States from Italy in the early 1900s. We relied on these rustic and frequently powerful wines in our everyday routines and the love and home-grown expertise that imbued them. We were allowed a little glass of wine with our Sunday and holiday dinners as kids. As children, we were taught that a glass of wine might improve the flavour and conviviality of any meal. Because of the advancements in technology, we are able to make wines that we are incredibly proud of. Website
Quièvremont Winery
My wife Teri and I chose to retire and take a breather after serving in the Marine Corps for twenty years as aviators, then working for the proprietors of one of the biggest destination resort/casinos in the world and in government affairs. With newfound enthusiasm for developing a new “lifestyle niche,” we acquired the Reality Farm, nestled at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains of northern Virginia, in 2006, instead of pursuing the retirement we had hoped for. According to superstition, we did not rename the farm but rather embraced our new “reality” as the property’s official name. There was a Jersey milk cow, Nubian dairy goat, and Angus cattle herd on the property, and I had a small vineyard and farm winery called Quièvremont situated inside the farm limits. The first three acres of vinifera grapes were planted in 2007 after extensive consultations with the region’s leading winemakers and advisors. There have been no gaps in our vineyard expansion since then, as we have continued to plant in the most optimal terrain for sun exposure, airflow, drainage and soil. In order to make small lots of great wine, we’ve been and will continue to put an emphasis on the quality of the grapes we use. We now cultivate chardonnay, merlot, cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon, petit verdot, and petit manseng grapes. Every excellent wine begins with quality grapes, so we eagerly anticipate each new vintage while maintaining our emphasis on traditional, Bordeaux-style wines. Website
