Wye Mills Community Lake
Wye Mills Lake is one of the biggest ponds on the Eastern Shore, with 50 acres. An 8-foot depth and a 4-foot average are the most common. The lower two-thirds of the lake have steeper sides with dramatic drop-offs, while the top third is shallow. Fish are abundant in the bottom two-thirds of Wye Mills Lake’s water. The beach is littered with felled trees and roots that have been chopped off. During the summer, aquatic plants may be seen in abundance.
